Fleximount The Fleximount can be attached to any material, such as wood or brick. When using Fleximounts with small or large stone ballast the sleepers need not sink into the ballast to be held, but can sit on top of the track bed, therefore avoiding derailments caused by moving ballast. This is particularly useful when using the low profile sleeper type has those used on Peco & Tenmille 32mm track. Under Development is a Mount Support Assembly, which attaches easily to a Fleximount. This enables a down support tube to be pushed into the ground to fix a height and gives the option use a continuous horizontal tube, flexible or rigid, as a route guide. These parts allow various assembly makeup's and will enable track to cross almost any feature such as angled slopes or uneven terrain etc The main component a Fleximount, is positioned between 500mm (20") to 2m (6'-6"), those spacing's can vary depending on routing, terrain & track joint positions and can be increased to suit, especially on long gradual curves or long straights. Small stone ballast is still required and when installing Fleximounts, it gives the whole layout the support and the traditional look of a garden railway. The Fleximount is designed to allow ballast to ride around the unit without restricting movement and is attached to a single sleeper. The track is easily attached to the
Fleximount using a single M4 (5/32" dia) Track Fixing screw which
is supplied with the system. Note all 3 fixings are machined screws,
not a self tapping. The height of the Fleximount from the
stainless steel base to the sleeper fixing face is 21mm (13/16").
